The Wedding Architects is the in-house planning service of The Pendennis, created for couples who believe their wedding should feel as intentional, elevated, and unforgettable as the love they’re celebrating.
We approach weddings the same way an architect approaches a building; by understanding the vision, designing the framework, and ensuring every detail supports the experience as a whole. We accept there are real limitations, like budget, and we work within them. Rather than providing simple coordination, our planning encompasses comprehensive design leadership.
Having run over 250 events, we know exactly how to make the best use of our venue’s space, and we know what it takes to make it feel magical! We don’t see planning as an add-on services, but instead it’s a way for us to help our couples create their dream wedding in a space that is unique, intimate, and has endless options for personalization.
We have three packages available to each of our couples:

Each of the three tiers reflects how much of your wedding we take into our hands.
Not everyone needs the same depth of involvement, but every couple deserves excellence. The first tier focuses on problem solving, the second is for event support leading up to and on the wedding day, the final tier is for comprehensive wedding planning.
Tier I: The Blueprint
Wedding Consultation
A 90-minute private consultation (in person) with one of our Wedding Architects, designed to bring clarity, structure, and direction to your wedding plans.
This session may include:
• Wedding timeline design
• Budget framework
• Vendor priority mapping
• Design and style direction
• Layout and guest flow planning
• Risk identification and red-flag prevention
• Venue and experience flow strategy
Following your session, you will receive:
• A written Wedding Blueprint
• A timeline or budget framework
• A design direction summary
• Clear next-step vendor recommendations
This is designed to solve one problem specifically (ex. create a budget or timeline) or, to go over the whole plan and ensure it’s cohesive by catching errors or noting gaps.

The Framework is designed for couples who have planned their wedding and want professional input to refine the vision, bring structure to their plans, and ensure every decision works together cohesively.
This experience is ideal for couples who:

• Want clarity, cohesion, and expert design guidance
• Need confidence that their plans are sound and well-considered
Over a focused 30-day period, couples receive:
• Refined design direction and aesthetic development
• Professional review of booked vendors and contracts
• Wedding timeline creation
• Budget oversight and alignment
• Structured planning meetings (x2)
• Full event-day management and execution
You remain involved throughout the process while we anticipate challenges and reduce stress through experienced oversight. The result is a wedding that feels intentional, organized, and beautifully executed.

A Note from Elizabeth
My name is Elizabeth Mywaart, Founder and CEO of The Pendennis Weddings & Events.
I have worked in the wedding industry since 2011, beginning as a makeup artist and expanding my expertise into hairstyling, photography, videography, and destination weddings. Over the years, I have helped to create and produce weddings for couples across the United States, Mexico, Iceland, France, Italy, and Hong Kong.
In 2021, following the industry’s transformation after COVID, I opened my first wedding venue, now closed. In 2023 I launched The Pendennis Weddings and Events, a historic, design-forward wedding and events venue in downtown Edmonton. Since 2021, my team and I have produced more than 250 weddings and events, giving me a deep understanding of not just how weddings look and feel but how they function.
The Wedding Architects was created to make that hard-won experience directly available to couples. It exists for those who want their wedding to be thoughtfully designed, expertly managed, and genuinely enjoyable from start to finish.
I believe that planning includes far more than simple checklists. Rather, it’s a service that provides clarity through engaged leadership focused on an exceptional client experience.
